"Pee in g'ass...."

July 2007 July 2009

My Mother always told me: "be careful what you wish for...."

I know this is going to come back to haunt me, but I think it is hysterical.

I was wishing that Wyatt would potty train at the same time because the thought of being diaper free is such an amazing, liberating and cheaper way of life! But there is no way that he was ready…or so I thought! Until Teagan starting peeing on the grass…

A couple of my girlfriends were telling me they would potty train their little girls by staying home for three days straight and letting them go diaper free. The thought of staying home with 2 year old twins didn’t excite me, but the diaper free part I could deal with. So whenever we were home I would let Teagan run around without a diaper. Well the other day she needed to pee while we were outside. It seemed totally logical at the time; I would teach her the “squat to pee” method.

Come on ladies! We have all had to do it at some point or another!! I was merely giving her the skills that would be required of her later in life. She was quite thrilled with herself over her new found ability to squat to pee outside in the grass. Well, Wyatt saw. Now Wyatt wants to pee on the grass too!

Today we were getting out of the pool, I took off both of their swim diapers and Teagan tells me: “My pee pee on g’ass”. So she runs over and squats to pee. And who follows? Wyatt. And what does he do? Squats to pee.

Oops. I am now trying to teach Wyatt how to hold his pee pee and stand to pee. Needless to say they are very confused. The neighbors are probably wondering what the heck I am doing because all they hear is me hollering:

“Tiggy squat to pee!”

“Wyatt stand to pee!”

I know I shouldn’t wish for it…but I do think it is awfully funny seeing these two try to out-do each other by peeing on the grass!!
