Dinner Time!

The babies are now onto the oh-so-fun phase of finger foods. They are starting to eat with their fingers - and can feed themselves. This usually means about 10 minutes of food time and 20 minutes of clean up for Mom. :-)

Teagan is a handful...in so many respects! This is her feeding herself. Yes. Her top is off. She refuses to wear a bib these days and literally gets food everywhere. So I took her top off today.
Whatever you put on Teagan's tray she immediately puts in her mouth. She doesn't eat it all right away however. She just loads up and eats later. One time I went to give her her night-night bottle - literally two hours after she ate - and I found a piece of turkey in her mouth still. I promised her there would be breakfast the next day and she didn't have to keep saving food. There will always be more food T.May.Wyatt on the other hand is a perfectly civilized eater. He carefully picks up one item at a time, puts it in his mouth, chews it then swallows it. He does this every time.
Much cleaner.... And if you can see Wyatt is getting his next set of teeth on the bottom row. Wow. They are changing so quickly. They love to play around their high chairs because the high chairs are on wheels and they move around. Waiting for a disaster with this one.

9 Month Check Up

The Babies had their 9 Month check this week. It was a great appointment because they just get weighed, measured, checked for development - but - no shots! Yeah.

For the first time in 36 weeks (the time they were in my belly) and 9 Months - Wyatt is officially bigger than Teagan! This is big. As Baby A she has always been the bigger baby in utero and after they were born. But now, he is the bigger baby. He can officially begin his reign as her "big brother."

Here are their latest stats:
Wyatt
30 Inches Long (95%)
21 Pounds 14 Ounces (75%)

Teagan
29 Inches Long (90%)
21 Pounds 9 Ounces (90%)

These are the babies in their pajamas getting ready for bedtime. Their new favorite hangout is the hallway on the way to the nursery. I give them lots of balls and they chase 'em up and down the hallway.

Wyatt's four top teeth have made their way in. He gets very excited and screams at stuff all the time these days. He is really starting to talk a lot more in the last week or so.
Too cute. Teagan is fearless. She really will just go anywhere - pull herself up on anything - crawl across anything to get to where she wants to go.... including a basket of toys.

This is the famous learning table that they used to have to sit in their bumbo chairs to play with. Now they love to stand at it and play with it. They love toys they can stand at. Makes 'em feel like "big kids" I bet.
Both the babies LOVE music. Teagan is really fond of her toy music cube right now however because she can stand at it - rock it - and make it play songs. Thanfully it has a "low/high" volume setting. :-) How many times can a person hear "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, the wheels on the bus go...." without going insane?! Or at least without repeating it in your head when you go to sleep at night?!This is the baby gate to our bedroom. Often times this is the only safe place for the dogs to hang out in the house...their only sanctuary. But the babies have figured out the dogs are in there...and they LOVE to "talk" to the doggies. So they always cruise to the gate in the morning to see if the dogs are there.

OK - my son is a product of his father. Clearly. I know this because Wyatt is in love with the television. The minute Baby Einstein comes on - Mr. Wyatt Clinton comes from anywhere in the house to watch it. Mind you - they only get to watch TV about two or three times a week - so it is very special. But seriously, the love of the TV is genetic. Duh.

Happy Easter!!

What would a first Easter be without silly bunny ears?! Thank you to their Ga'Ma (my Mom) for the bunny ears. When they are super mad at me at their 18th birthday - I will point them in your direction...
We can't get them to sit still anymore - so we bring toys every time I take pictures.
Wyatt - not minding the bunny ears.
Wyatt saying to Teagan: "Oh no - you are not leaving until I leave sistah!"
Teagan wondering what is on her brother's head....?

This is Teagan mid-sentence. The girl is constantly "talking". And yes, her first words are "Da Da." Travis wins.

Wyatt snatching his sister's bunny ears! What did you expect?!

These two always seem to find one another - no matter where they are. They are always climbing on top of one another, trying to get at the same toy at the same time, trying to pull themselves up on the same piece of furniture, always side by side these two.

Busy Month....

March was a very busy month! We had birthday parties - baptisms - a weekend trip to Sacramento so Travis could run a 1/2 marathon - Easter - whew!

Here are Teagan and Wyatt before we headed out to their friend Alissa Bella's 1st birthday.
Can't wait till the babies turn one and can eat cake like this too! Happy birthday Alissa.

These are the babies before we headed out to Chase & Blake's baptism. Aren't they too cute all done up?!
Here is my Mom with the twins and her 3 year old grandson Ben (my nephew) at my sister's house. She was trying to read to everyone - but the babies just kept grabbing at the book. Thanks Mom - anytime you want to babysit!

This is Wyatt all sporty in his workout pants and Nike tennis shoes!
Wyatt and Teagan's Grandma Goodrich - G.G. as we call her - got them a Karoke machine for Easter. They absolutely LOVE this thing. They will sit in front of it for a good amount of time listening to it - looking at themselves. Thanks G.G. This one is a keeper!

Oh no you didn't...!

I was amazed that I actually caught this on film! I was taking pictures of Wyatt and Teagan in their "Hampton's Hand-Me-Downs" (from my amazing girlfriend Coriander) and was able to photograph this sequence.
I could not get Wyatt to sit still long enough to take a picture - so I gave each of them a ring to play with so I could get a picture. Wyatt decided he wanted Teagan's ring - so he just leaned over - took it - then crawled away and hid it! Teagan had this look like: what just happened?!

Swim class at 8 months?! Travis and I decided that we wanted to get the babies used to be in the water since we will be traveling back to New York this summer and the Dude Ranch in June. So we enrolled the babies in swim class. It was such caos. Crazy. Infants, toddlers, kids, parents - running around - swimming - splashing - screaming - it was stimulation overload. Teagan loved it. She took right to the pool by smacking her hands on the water and splashing. She had a great time. Wyatt was not so sure. He was a little overwhelmed and a little nervous. He didn't cry - but he was not terribly excited. He hung in there for the whole class though. We are thinking maybe we will continue in May when they are just a tad bit older.
You gotta love a chubby baby girl in a swimsuit.
Wyatt is just the funniest baby. He is on the move these days. I have nicknamed him the Mexican Jumping Bean because he is so squirmy. He is always laughing and smiling. So fun.
Thank you to all our visitors! Last weekend Doug and Iliana stopped by - then Ben and Jill stopped by. We love having visitors - it is so good to expose the babies to different people.

8 Months Today!

As of February 25th the babies are now 8 months old. Yeah!

This is Teagan on the changing table. Both babies just love to pull on their feet and bring their feet to their mouths. Another big favorite is to actually get the shoes off - and then chew on them. :-) Both Wyatt and Teagan are now able to pull themselves up onto their knees by pulling on the crib railing. In this picture Travis helped Wyatt to get to a standing position - but Wyatt was able to hold himself. Picture of what is to come...!
Also a favorite past time is to chew on the inside railing of the crib. The top railing of the crib has a plastic guard - so they chew on the inside.
Here they are on the chair. If you look at previous posts - you can see how big they are now - how much they have grown.
Teagan now has her two bottom teeth as well as her two top teeth. Up next and making their way in are the teeth next to her front teeth - not sure what those are called! But Wyatt is getting those teeth first. Wyatt is crawling everywhere now-a-days. He does the "army crawl" style and combos that with rolls to get around. If I am not in the room I know he is on the move because he lets out a squeal when he takes off.
Teagan is on her way to crawling - but not yet. She gets up on all fours and rocks back and forth - and back and forth - and back and forth - only to lurch forward and face plant! She gets very upset and cries...but she is going to figure it out.

I wonder if Wyatt is telling her:

A. It's OK - You look good with the bow on your head - I promise

OR

B. Uh - Sis - I gotta tell ya: You look funny with that thing on your headHere they are - having a great time together. I wish I could video tape them and upload it - their screams to one another are just priceless.
