Vacation

In the middle of June we took our first official family vacation. We went to the South Shore of Lake Tahoe for our friends Ben and Jill's wedding. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Becchetti. We then went directly from Lake Tahoe to Trinity/Shasta County for a one week stay at a Dude Ranch.
Coffee Creek Dude Ranch was a fantastic time. We will be the first to admit we gave my sister Kim a bad time for choosing this as our family reunion vacation site - but she knew what we didn't: that we would have a great time! We rode horses, ate down-home cooking, did barrel racing and enjoyed a good time outdoors for the week. Very fun.
This is a picture of Wyatt and Travis. No doubt this boy is a mini-version of his Dada.
One of our favorite things to do at the Ranch was sit outside on the grass with the babies. They were very fond of their cousins. They like to watch "little people". Max, Ben and Korina are so good with them. It was so fun to see them all play together and interact.
Here is Miss May with her cousin's cowboy hat. Too cute. The babies won't wear hats however. They just take whatever hat you put on them - off. They don't wear hats. They don't wear socks - they pull them off. They won't wear shoes - they pull them off too.
Here is the whole family!

This is me on a Belgium draft horse. This was a very big horse - he was 18 or 19 hands. Super smooth gait - really fun to ride. I rode him for the pole racing and the barrel racing. Travis and I at the Ranch after a day of trail riding. Where are the babies?!

11 Months....Really???!!!!

The babies turned 11 Months on May 25th. I can't believe they are almost one year old already. Doesn't it seem like they just arrived?! It does for us still.

Teagan....

Poor Teagan. This girl is going to be bald until she is 2. And then she is going to get a great mullet first - before she gets a normal head of hair. Not sure if you can see very well - but she has a total Alfalfa sprig of hair growing in the back of her head right now.

Wyatt....

Wyatt is a climber. He loves to climb over toys - over the coffee table - whatever. Here he is trying to climb the wall. I think he is trying to escape. Not a chance buddy. Lock down till you are 18. We all know what your Daddy did when he snuck out of the house!

Every day I look at them in awe and amazement. They are such miracles. I am blessed every day...

Double Trouble ~ Now I Get It!

T.May and Wyatt are quite the Dynamic Duo these days. They discovered the kitchen a couple of weeks ago and it seems like it is the place to be. They are now pulling themselves up to stand on EVERYTHING in the house including the kitchen cabinets and drawers. Teagan has figured out how to pull herself up on the drawers, open the drawer, reach inside and pull out its contents. The other day I came in the kitchen and she had pulled out all the Ziploc baggies.

Both T.May and W.C. understand "UP." They will lift their hands in the air when they want Mommy or Daddy to lift them up.
Wyatt discovered the cabinet that holds all the mixing bowls...then he figured out how to pull bowls out one by one. If I cooked he could help me cook something! It would be better if he offered to help Travis since Travis cooks dinner every night. :-)
No matter how quickly I move - once I get one out of trouble the other one crawls over and gets into the same mess I just pulled the other one out of!
This is Wyatt discovering the cereal cabinet. The other day I came in the kitchen and found them both on the floor - the Cheerio box next to them with a pile of Cheerios they were happily eating. I wish I would have gotten that on film. I will have to write it down in their baby book. They were just happy little clams - eating Cheerios on the kitchen floor! Hard to be mad at something so cute.

Waiting for Da

The babies call Travis "Da". Sometimes it is Dada...but a lot of times it just comes out sounding a whole lot like "Daah". They have figured out where the front door is and whenever it opens and he comes through - they go crawling to him. It really does make my heart melt...once they get older they will be able to run to him...but for now we settle for the crawl to Da.

Bath Time!

Travis and I put the babies in the bathtub together the other day. It was mayhem...and I don't think I will do this again until they are a bit older. Both the babies love bathtime - it makes it easy on me. I love finding all the food morsels from dinner whenever I take their diapers off...pieces of pasta, chicken, peas...food in their hair and in their eyebrows...so fun.
Here is little Miss May in her birthday suit getting ready for the tub. She loves to stand at the tub and talk to it. I only wish I knew what she was saying.
Notice the pivotal placement of the toy? I wouldn't expose my little man's "nature" now would I?!

Dinner Time!

The babies are now onto the oh-so-fun phase of finger foods. They are starting to eat with their fingers - and can feed themselves. This usually means about 10 minutes of food time and 20 minutes of clean up for Mom. :-)

Teagan is a handful...in so many respects! This is her feeding herself. Yes. Her top is off. She refuses to wear a bib these days and literally gets food everywhere. So I took her top off today.
Whatever you put on Teagan's tray she immediately puts in her mouth. She doesn't eat it all right away however. She just loads up and eats later. One time I went to give her her night-night bottle - literally two hours after she ate - and I found a piece of turkey in her mouth still. I promised her there would be breakfast the next day and she didn't have to keep saving food. There will always be more food T.May.Wyatt on the other hand is a perfectly civilized eater. He carefully picks up one item at a time, puts it in his mouth, chews it then swallows it. He does this every time.
Much cleaner.... And if you can see Wyatt is getting his next set of teeth on the bottom row. Wow. They are changing so quickly. They love to play around their high chairs because the high chairs are on wheels and they move around. Waiting for a disaster with this one.

9 Month Check Up

The Babies had their 9 Month check this week. It was a great appointment because they just get weighed, measured, checked for development - but - no shots! Yeah.

For the first time in 36 weeks (the time they were in my belly) and 9 Months - Wyatt is officially bigger than Teagan! This is big. As Baby A she has always been the bigger baby in utero and after they were born. But now, he is the bigger baby. He can officially begin his reign as her "big brother."

Here are their latest stats:
Wyatt
30 Inches Long (95%)
21 Pounds 14 Ounces (75%)

Teagan
29 Inches Long (90%)
21 Pounds 9 Ounces (90%)

These are the babies in their pajamas getting ready for bedtime. Their new favorite hangout is the hallway on the way to the nursery. I give them lots of balls and they chase 'em up and down the hallway.

Wyatt's four top teeth have made their way in. He gets very excited and screams at stuff all the time these days. He is really starting to talk a lot more in the last week or so.
Too cute. Teagan is fearless. She really will just go anywhere - pull herself up on anything - crawl across anything to get to where she wants to go.... including a basket of toys.

This is the famous learning table that they used to have to sit in their bumbo chairs to play with. Now they love to stand at it and play with it. They love toys they can stand at. Makes 'em feel like "big kids" I bet.
Both the babies LOVE music. Teagan is really fond of her toy music cube right now however because she can stand at it - rock it - and make it play songs. Thanfully it has a "low/high" volume setting. :-) How many times can a person hear "The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, the wheels on the bus go...." without going insane?! Or at least without repeating it in your head when you go to sleep at night?!This is the baby gate to our bedroom. Often times this is the only safe place for the dogs to hang out in the house...their only sanctuary. But the babies have figured out the dogs are in there...and they LOVE to "talk" to the doggies. So they always cruise to the gate in the morning to see if the dogs are there.

OK - my son is a product of his father. Clearly. I know this because Wyatt is in love with the television. The minute Baby Einstein comes on - Mr. Wyatt Clinton comes from anywhere in the house to watch it. Mind you - they only get to watch TV about two or three times a week - so it is very special. But seriously, the love of the TV is genetic. Duh.
