I gotta remember

The one thing I have to remember about each of them right now is how they pronounce things! It cracks Travis and I up, so I want to remember....

Teagan pronounces the "er" sound instead of the "or" sound.

For example:
For = Fer
Floor = Flere
More = Mere
Good Morning = Good Merning

Wyatt uses the "W" sound for the "L" sound.

For example:
I wuv you Mommy

He also ends every sentence as if it is a question - he puts the emphasis at the end of the sentence and his octive goes up like he is asking a question but he isn't!

They each have such different styles of talking. But they think as one. That is for SURE. I totally get the understanding of the term "double trouble" now. It is quite fascinating to watch them interact because they don't act independently of each other - they act as a unit. It is almost as if their minds are connected = they think the same thing at the same time. It is fascinating. More on that later...lets just hope it doesn't take me another 20 something days to post!

August is a blur....

Ugh - I can't believe it has been so long since my last post - I say this all the time: but where does the day go?!

In August we went up to my parents ranch for a weekend with the entire family. It is one of the few times that all 6 cousins were in the same place at the same time! With my niece off to college in Irvine it is hard to get all the kids together as she is gone at school most of the year. But we did get some great shots of the 6 of them playing around. You can see them below.

We went to the Sacramento State Fair and had a blast. Luckily it has been a rather mild summer so the day we went it was not too hot out. The kids had a blast. They are now old enough/tall enough to ride some of the rides all by themselves - which they love! We cruised around the barn areas and saw all the animals. We went to the "livestock" area to see fish, baby animals, all kinds of stuff. We ate everything that you shouldn't eat! My Dad and Mom even tried the latest food trend at the fair; chocolate covered bacon. Eeewww!! We saw the dinasour exhibit and that was pretty cool - Wyatt loved it but it scared Teagan a little.

Teagan really loves to paint and color. She always asks me to paint...and most of the time I say no because you see what happens when I leave them for 20 minutes to paint outside by themselves while I vacuum the house...it takes me another 20 minutes to get them cleaned up!

They have also discovered commercials. The other day they were watching their morning cartoons and they came into the kitchen going on and on about going to the "bouncy place." Well I had no clue what they were talking about until a couple of days later Wyatt comes tearing into my room to pull me to the TV where I see a commercial for "Sky Zone". It is a trampoline place in Roseville. So we HAD to go!! They really had a great time and were totally fearless. Now they ask to go back almost everyday.

Our last field trip consisted of a trip to the Citrus Heights Police Station. The kids are just starting to get police, police cars, fire men, fire trucks, etc. A woman in the Moms group organized a trip to the station so we went. The kids were in awe, but I have to say, their favorite part would be a toss up between the K-9 dog unit and watching the dogs do drills, and the motorcycles. Wyatt LOVED the motorcycles and of course touched all the buttons and siren! Scared us all to death! Man, that siren is loud when you are right next to it. And yes, it illicits the same response even when you know your kid turned it on! LOL

Summer 2010

It has been a crazy summer - I guess that is how all summers are going to be from here on out - or life in general for that matter! Here are a couple of updates...as I try to play catch up almost at the end of summer!

Wyatt is such a handful. I joke he is going to be my E.R. (Emergency Room) kid. So far this year he has...

~ Been sick for most of the year
~ Had between 6-7 ear infections (I have actually lost track!)
~ One ER trip for a busted lip that required 7 stitches
~ One 24 hour hospital stay due to severe sickness and dehydration
~ Another fall that resulted in a cracked open lip and a dead front tooth that is now grey
~ One very angry hornet sting when Wyatt disturbed their nest

But at the same time he is such a little love bug. Wyatt has a thing for sleeping with us...every night he tries to sneak in our room around 2:00 am because he hates sleeping alone. He has stopped coming to my side because I will just quietly walk him back to his room and tuck him in. Now he goes to his Daddy's side and that *usually* does the trick. He loves to snuggle and burrow right up against me or his Daddy.

He is also quite the funny little kid. He always makes silly faces, puts his clothes on his head, jokes around. He is also the first to introduce himself and his sister. He is not shy and loves to meet new people. He says: "My name is Wyatt and this is my sister Teagan. And that is my Mom and that is my Dad" He is also quite the "rough house" kid. Wyatt loves to tackle you, take you down, jump all over you - he is WWF all the way.

Teagan is proving to be very different than Wyatt. She does get sick, but she has a much stronger constitution. It seems like if there is any type of cold within one block of Wyatt he will catch it - but Teagan just doesn't get as sick that easily. She did get very sick in May when they were both sick - but not as bad.

When it comes to bedtime...Teagan will fight it. The girl will stay up till 10:00 at night if she can! She fights sleep and thinks of any excuse to come out of her room: we forgot to clean up the playroom Mommy, I have a tummy ache Mommy, I want some water Mommy...and on and on it goes. She usually gives up and passes out around...nearly 10:00 pm some nights. (I think once she starts preschool she will be more tired though.) But once she is asleep - she is asleep! Teagan NEVER gets out of bed. NEVER. So that is nice. It seems like once we finally get her to sleep then we start dealing with Wyatt getting up...! To all our friends and family past this stage - to all our friends and family no where near this stage: Be Grateful. Sleep is wonderful.

Teagan is also my shadow. She loves to follow me around and be my little helper. She is totally into helping me cook, doing dishes, doing laundry, cleaning. Whatever it is I am doing, she wants to be there and be a part of it. I joke with Travis: Wyatt has none of my D.N.A and Teagan has none of his D.N.A. They are total "mini-me" versions of us.

Highlights of our summer:
~ They turned 3 years old in June
~ They both had their first dentist visit that went great! Both got a great report card - no one cried - no one was scared - it was a dream visit for them and Mommy.
~ We went to Tahoe for a couple of overnight trips and had a great time!
~ We went to G.G's house in San Carlos for some friends birthday parties
~ We went to Grandma and Grandpa's Ranch for a fun family weekend
~ We have had lots of friends over for swimming pool fun!
~ We are exploring all there is to do now that we are "big kids" like Funderland, Sky Zone and more!
