6 Months Old

The babies had their 6 month check up today. They are perfectly healthy and developing right on track. Yeah! We always love good Dr.'s appointments.
Wyatt's stats:
17 pounds 1 oz (4 pounds more than his 4 month check up) - 50 % for Weight
27 3/4 " Long (3 3/4 inches longer than his 4 month check up) - 90 % for Height

Teagan is:
18 Pounds 7 oz (3 pounds 4 oz more than her 4 month check up) - 90 % for Weight
27" Long ( 2 inches longer than her 4 month check up) - 90 % for Height

Wyatt is gaining on his sister! He is now longer than her - which is pretty good because he was born 1/2 inch shorter - and he is only 1 pound 5 oz lighter than her which is basically where they started when they were born.
Happy Holidays Everyone! Cheers to a Happy and Healthy New Year!

More Holiday Cheer!

Teagan and Wyatt in their "Thing 1" and "Thing 2" outfits.
Not sure if you can see - but Teagan has been working on getting her two bottom teeth in for the last few weeks. Wyatt also got both his bottom teeth in too. I am TRYING to get his on film - but so far - it has proven to be impossible!
So when we were pregnant we went to a class on "Expecting Multiples." Travis ran into a friend that he grew up playing baseball with as a kid - Brian Affrunti. Brian and his wife Gina were expecting identical twin boys. We kept in touch with them throughout our pregnancies and I became instant friends with Gina. Her and I actually had the same horrific last few weeks of pregnancy together over the phone since we were both housebound!

The Affrunti boys and the Goodrich twins are just 10 days apart. The Goodrich twins made their debut at 36 weeks and the Affrunti boys made it to 38 weeks (way too comfortable in there!)

Chase is on the top of the photo - he is wearing the green stripes. Blake is wearing the yellow stripes. We are waiting to see if they are "mirror image" identical twins. Meaning, one is left handed one is right, their hair parts on different sides, etc.
Since the babies are so close in age - it makes for a perfect playdate. Which is basically an excuse to break up the weekly routine and go explore new toys! And it is always a challenge to see which baby will win the "crankiest" award for the day. I think Teagan won today - she is sort of going through a "stranger anxiety" phase these days. Oh well.

Chase, Blake, Teagan and Wyatt

Fun times!!

It is pretty funny - but lately Teagan and Wyatt have started to play the "hey - I want that" game. One of them will have a toy and the other will see it - drop their toy - and grab for the other toy. Oh boy....it is just getting started right?!

December Update

Happy Holidays!

Here are some recent pics of the babies. They are getting so big...it is amazing how quickly they grow. Everyone told us "it all goes by so quickly." And it sure does. They are so much fun these days. They have started to laugh whenever you do something goofy or make a funny sound. Teagan has this oh so cute habit of actually grunting when she has to poop. Wyatt has this really cool raspy little voice. They are really starting to develop their own personalities.

Here they are in one of their Holiday outfits. Notice that I did not put the "Ho Ho Ho" on Teagan. Couldn't do. Wouldn't be prudent.

Friends of ours - Doug and Iliana - got them these camo outfits that we thought were hysterical. They are all ready to go duck hunting with ya Doug!

By this point - we think both of their eyes will be blue. Teagan's are a very light blue - which I think she gets from my Dad. Wyatt's are a very deep blue which we think comes from Travis' side.
I am not sure if you can see them or not - but Teagan got her two bottom teeth in at the begining of the month. She got both at the same time. She is a pretty intense little baby. Whenever she wants something she grunts and throws her right arm towards it.

Wyatt got one bottom tooth in about five days after Teagan got hers. He tends to be a little more mellow. He can just hang out, lay on the floor, stare at a toy and be perfectly content.

Here they are!

On the move!

This is a picture of Wyatt and Teagan in our new stroller. Travis - being the loving husband that he is - bought me a "Bob" stroller. For those of you not in the baby world (which was us!) the Bob stroller is like the Cadillac Escalade of strollers. It even has its own shock system. No kidding. It is sooo much easier to take the babies out on walks now.

How cute are they?!

I snapped this photo of Wyatt and Travis watching football on Sunday a couple of weeks ago. Any doubt that Wyatt is his fathers son?!

Thanksgiving 2007

We had a nice day with the babies at Travis' Mom's house here in San Carlos. It was sort of nice to be local and not deal with any traffic at all. But...we did have to pack it up just for the day!
Boy - with babies - there is a lot of stuff to haul around!

We have been introducing solid food to the babies for a couple of weeks now. Teagan loves it - Wyatt is not so sure. So I decided on Thanksgiving it would be the perfect day to give them sweet potatoes. I wanted to make sure they got their own little Thanksgiving feast!

Teagan and Wyatt have really started to notice one another in the last two weeks. They will sit there and stare at each other waiting for the other one to smile. Then once one smiles - they will smile back. They are really just bonding ya know?!

These are some of my favorite outfits for the babies. You should know - later that day - Teagan took full advantage of her saying and had a massive blow out. I guess I asked for it by putting her in the outfit!

This is Teagan in the middle of what we call Baby Olympics. She is doing the "Door Bouncer". She can sit in this thing for at least 20 minutes. Just dangling...drooling...and chewing on it.

This is Wyatt just hanging out and being Wyatt. He is so much fun when he smiles because he smiles with everything - his whole body smiles. He looks more and more like Travis every day...but Wyatt is quickly getting more hair than Travis!

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving!

Love you.

21 Weeks - Five Months - Today

Well - we made it. We are now into the fifth month. Whew. Things are going really well - honestly - we are now into somewhat of a routine that is working. I am finally relieved that I know what each day holds. I have routine and predictability. Wahoo! In the world of twins: you gotta love routine.

Our days have pretty much followed the same schedule for the last few weeks:
6:45 AM Wyatt is awake
7:00 AM Teagan gets woken up
7:15 AM Babies eat...Mommy makes coffee...babies play after eating
9:00 AM Babies go down for their first nap of the day
9:45 AM Babies wake up
10:00 AM Babies eat for the second time
Baby Olympics
11:45 or Noon Babies go down for their second nap
12:45 PM Babies Wake up
1:00 PM Babies eat again!
2:30 or so Babies go down for another quick nap
3:30 Babies wake up
4:00 Babies eat for the fourth time
More Playing
5:00 Last nap of the day - this one is quick
5:30 PM Wake up and the nighttime ritual begins
Bath
Jammies
Nightime Bottle
6:30 - 7:00 PM BEDTIME

So everyday, this is what we do.

Teagan is doing great. The little girl is a champion sleeper and eater! She is sleeping at least 11 - 12 hours at night and does her naps during the day. She eats a ton during the day - usually 7 oz. a feeding. She sucks on her fingers constantly as she has begun teething. I swear she tries her best to get both her fists in her mouth at the same time! She has also found her thumb and often times at night and for her naps we find her sucking her thumb. Really cute.

Wyatt is such a happy little baby now that we have gotten his reflux under control. He smiles all the time - and when he smiles he smiles with his whole body. It is so cute. He has also starting rolling over. This is really cute during the day - but not so fun at 2:00 o'clock in the morning when he rolls over from his tummy to his back and wakes up in a panic because he doesn't know how to sleep on his back. Yes - our babies are tummy sleepers now. :-) Wyatt can almost make it through the night. He wakes up around 3 AM to eat and then goes right back to sleep. We also decided to get his birthmark on his nose treated with a laser treatment from the dermatologist so that is starting to fade a little bit too. Mostly though - Wyatt is such a "mini-me" form of Travis that it is a little crazy.

Here are our latest pictures.

We hope everyone has a nice Thanksgiving and enjoys the time off.

Love - Travis and Susan

16 Weeks.....Whew!

Hi Everyone,

Can't believe it has been six weeks since I last posted. The days just go by in a blur for me...The only way that I know it is actually a new day - and that they year is progressing - is the changing weather. It is so nice to see a change of weather. I know - I know. Most people hate the rain - but it is a welcome change for me!

So we actually are settling into some kind of routine these days. Our days usually start around 6 or 7 am. Wyatt is usally up first to eat then Teagan (that girl is a sleeper!) Generally they eat - then hang out and do "Baby Olympics" (details below) then go down for an 45 minute to an hour nap. Get up - do the whole thing over again until around 7:00 pm when they go down for the night. Well, Teagan goes down, Wyatt usally gets back up to hang out with Mom and Dad one more time.

Our routine everyday is a term Travis coined called Baby Olympics. We rotate the kids on various different things in the house. We have the following events:

Crib Mobile

Crib Mirror

Bumbo Chairs

Baby Einstein on TV (yes I put my kids in front of the TV at four months....Bad Mom!)

Bouncy Chair

Floor Mat

Tummy Time

Swing

Each baby excels at different events. Teagan loves to watch Baby Einstein in her bumbo chair - Wyatt hates Tummy Time but loves his bee mobile in his crib. So whenever they are in an event and they start to get cranky - we try a different event! Moving along in Baby Olympics! :-)

They just had their four month check up and everyone is doing great! Teagan is now 25 inches long and weighs 15 pounds 3 ounces. Wyatt is 24 inches long and weighs 13 pounds 1 ounce. Both babies got a clean bill of health and are developmentally where they need to be.

It has been so exciting over the last six weeks to see them grow and turn into little beings. They have both started smiling back at us - they both have started to "coo" and talk to us. It is so neat to see them react to us. Now the race is on....I keep repeating to them "Mommy" and Travis keeps repeating "Dad Da". We will see who says what first.

Wyatt got diagnosed with acid reflux when he was just 9 or 10 weeks old. So it has been a challenge dealing with that and his feeding. But it looks like we finally got that under control and he has been such a happy baby in the last two weeks. He now eats every three hours with his sister - which means we are down to about 12 or 13 feedings a day instead of the 20 that we used to be at. Gives mommy a little more time during the day to eat, go to the bathroom, brush my teeth, etc. What a relief.

We took a couple of outings in September and October. We went to my parents ranch for the weekend. That was nice. Then we did the annual trip with our friends (MC Weekend) to Russian River. That was pure caos - with six kids under the age of 6 and our two babies - but we had a good time. Hey - we are getting out - going places - trying to remain social. We can't go completely suburbia on everyone can we?!

Well, we didn't get any donations for our night nanny. So we are having to let her go. Come November we will be on our own. Which is OK. Teagan is a champion sleeper and Wyatt is starting to do longer stretches himself. So we will be OK. It is just sad....sniff....sniff.... Kidding. We will be OK without our wonderful Nanny Christa - but she will be missed.

As always. We are here. If you are local - feel free to drop by!

Warmly,

Susan and Travis
